Observational Enrolling
A study of complications due to cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD) in a diverse group of teens and adults with CFRD (SPeCTRuM)
This observational study will monitor for diabetes complications, such as retinopathy, neuropathy, and high blood pressure, in a racially and ethnically diverse group of adolescents and adults with established cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD).
Researchers will collect information such as diabetes management and problem areas through questionnaires. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) will be used to collect information on the participant’s management of blood sugar levels (glycemic control), including fluctuations in blood sugar (glucose variability). Kidney function and liver function will be monitored through lab results from blood draws.
This study will require questionnaires, CGM, blood draws, urine specimens, and other sample collections.
Email a research coordinator to express interest in participating in this study.
